Our princess turns one....

OK, so I'm as guilty as anyone. She's as cute as a button, especially when mommy gets her all dolled up in her cute little outfits, and wearing silly princess crowns. But boy oh boy am I in trouble, cause she's getting her way all to often and I'm powerless to stop it. ;-)

And so it came as no surprise to find her on her first birthday as the center of attention with a cute little dress and a princess crown.

She's not walking completely on her own yet, but when she can get daddy to escort her all around, surveying her minions, why should she spend the extra effort?

Once the cake came out, all the kids gathered around to sing happy birthday as Kate got ready for her immersion experience.

And immersion it was. By the time she had plowed through her first cake, it was all over her face, in her hair, all over her chest, smushed into the high chair and just about everywhere you can imagine. But boy oh boy did she enjoy it!

Thanks to everybody that came over that night to help us celebrate Kate's first birthday. A few more pictures of the festivities out on Picasa.

Opening Day and Owen's First Game

The boys look handsome in their new baseball uniforms with the start of a new baseball season. Patrick's getting to be old hat, starting his t-ball season. But Owen is thrilled to finally get a chance to join the boys of summer in his rag-ball league.

And this officially becomes the year that I break down and agree to pitch in as an assistant coach. Officially for Patrick's team, but the helping hands are always welcome on Owen's team too. With these two handsome guys, its turning out to be a lot of fun, and a great way for me to practice patience. OK...lots of practice. ;-)

And after all the opening cermonies, pictures, and some playtime, it was finally time for baseball for Owen. A big hit, and a streak down the line, and Owen's officially in the game. A series of photos out on picasa of his first hit and sprint down the line.

Not to be left out, Kate gets some attention from Grandpa in the 'bleachers'. A great day and a great start to the season!

A day at the arboretum

April started to present good chances for Beth to get the kids outside. What better place to do it than the Arboretum. She and our neighbors down the street headed out and had a great day enjoying the nice spring day. Kate had fun exploring a whole new environment, and the boys, all four of them, got to explore and run around.

Random April pics

Wow, a whole month passes by and it probably seems like I fell off the earth. Not quite, but three, especially with t-ball starting, is turning out to be quite a bit of work. :-) I even fell behind in actually taking pictures. Thankfully, my wonderful wife picked up the slack behind the lense, and turned out some cool pictures. Here are some great one's from some random April days with the kids. Even with a face crusted with mac n cheese, I could just sit and stare at pics like this all day long.

As much as we love these three, its pretty clear that Patrick and Owen think pretty highly of their little sis. There's enough hugging and cuddling to last a lifetime around these three. :-)

Our baby is starting to look a lot more like a pretty little girl. No bigger than a minute, but still just as cute as ever!

And then of course, Beth catches them in candid moments like this. Not sure what to say here. 2 apples, 2 boys, 1 girl, a laundry basket and next thing you know, its the good ship lollipop.
