US Air Force Museum

The boys and I decided to take advantage of their spring break and my day off and take a trip to the Air Force Museum. They wouldn't let me bring the camera ("Daddieeee....we don't want to mess with the camera....."), but then they wanted pictures once we were there. So, a few cell phone shots to capture the moment (gonna have to get a better mini-camera), and some good memories.

Their favorite was the IMAX movie "Magic of Flight" with lots a footage of the Blue Angels up close. Close behind was the F-16 Falcon from the US Air Force Thunderbirds on display. And while they enjoyed getting in the cockpits of some of the airplanes, they were truly impressed by the Titan rockets in the missles and rockets section of the museum. A great day, and they lasted WAAAAYYY longer than I'd have imagined. And they want to go back. I remember taking trips to the Air Force Museum when I was young, so its fun for me to see them enjoying it as much as me!

Top o' the Morning

When these Irish Eyes are Smiling, there's pretty much nothing I wouldn't do. Beth got some pictures of Kate in her St. Patrick's day outfit, and got some great pics of our little lass.

Kate's been experimenting with crawling a lot more lately, although she likes to do it when we're not watching. Leave her in one spot, turn around for a minute, and when you look back, she's magically half way across the room, usually with something in her hands and that impish little grin on her face. Boy am I in big trouble. ;-)

Time to direct you out to Picasa to see more of Kate's St. Patty's Day crawling adventures.

The Blizzard of 2008

Last weekend we had a huge snowstorm that had all the newscasters reminiscing about the Blizzard of '78. That evokes some pretty strong memories for me, mostly giant mounds of snow bigger than me, and my dad chasing our storm windows all across the neighbors backyard. ;-) So when I looked out in the backyard and found 16 inches of snow on the deck and drifts of more than 26 inches, I knew the boys would have a good time.....

Kate was quite content inside in her nice new outfit, and wasn't sure why I was getting out snow gear for her....

The boys on the other hand couldn't wait to head out back with Mommy and show her their sledding hill skills!

Kate was not at all having a good time when I first took her out in the snow.

But she "warmed up" to the snow, especially one she had her mommy.

After a while on the sledding hill, the boys had fun wading back through hip deep snow drifts.

More pictures of snowy fun here.

Emma's first communion

Earlier this month, we packed up the whole family and headed out to visit Donnie, Emma and Chloe, and to be there for Emma's first communion. Emma's first communion dress was very pretty and she did great with her reading in the ceremony. Here's Emma looking sharp during the luncheon afterwards.

We had a great time seeing Dennis and Mary too, and Colleen even came by for a bit on Saturday. The boys had a great time seeing their old pals Emmma and Chloe. And with David and Mindy there too, Kate and Grace got a chance to meet for the first time. Here they are checking each other out during the luncheon. Donnie, David, and I may have to start trading secrets on how to deal with these pretty little girls that are intent on stealing our hearts.....

Speaking of those girls, here's Chloe getting some attention from Colleen. Being the little sis on a day like this can be hard work. :-)

Can't wait to go back and spend more time with the whole gang! A few more pics out on Picasa....
