Baseball's other opening day ceremonies.....

Patrick's ragball team had opening day ceremonies this past weekend. They had a perfect day for it

Patrick head's out with his teammates, "The Black Vultures", during the opening day parade.

Owen would like nothing more than to be out there on the field with the rest of the kids, but for now, he's Patrick's biggest fan on the fences.

Check out the rest of the pictures on the Picasa site for more of "Lefty-Hustle" in action.

Field Trip

Patrick's class had a chance a few days ago to do a field trip, and I went along as a chaperone. I enjoyed watching him and his classmates have fun exploring nature...

The box turtle was a thrilling site up close.

But everyone loved the snake too. Patrick was even among the brave ones to pet the snake.

And of course, what would a field trip be without a trek through the fields. :-) Patrick must have had fun though, 'cause he suggested that we should come back sometime on our own so Owen could see it too!

Let's go fly a kite

Ever since we rented the original "Mary Poppins", the boys have been fascinated with the idea of flying a kite. Leave it to mom to find a couple of kites for a dollar each, and with Pirates and Cars on them no less. So, with a decent day, and a little breeze, we headed out to try out their new adventure.

To get the full effect, you have to imagine Patrick and Owen singing as they run with their kites "Let's go fly a kite....up to the highest heights....let's go fly a kite and send it soaring...."

First they had to get the idea of running with the kite...into the wind preferably!

Owen caught on quick too...

Then it was time to let the string out, start way across the green space, and really get a run at it. Owen got it really soaring.

And Patrick quickly followed suit....

And a few more pics, including a cruise in the Power Wheels Jeep, on the Picasa site.
